This is a video from our old stock but we still really like it. Film making is a great team building event and the final cut is always something that people want to keep as a memory of their day together.

We send experts to help out with using the camera and editing. Team building with film making is another activity where people learn really useful things that they can take with them and use when they next make films for themselves.

Happy New Year! It’s exciting to be starting a new year of team building adventures. We will be running established events such as Chocolate Making and the Crystal Challenge and there will be plenty of new ideas. We regularly come up with new event concepts and often clients have themes or ideas that they ask us to develop for them.

Last year cooking events remained popular and there was a growing trend towards indoor team building, particularly of note events at clients’own offices rather than at hotels. We expect cost cutting moves to continue and have to make sure that we find ways to support this objective while still delivering excellent events.

Influences that will come in in 2011 will be the growing excitement about the 2012 Olympics. The challenge there is to be able to create relevant events without infringing on one of the most protected brands out there. Official Olympics material is available and event companies will need to keep on the right side of that line.

Another relevant influence is the number of films that are being released this year. Some really big films are coming out and that may make Film Making events popular. This is one of the best events for team building, it unites people through sheer enjoyment and the films made are always fantastic and will be enjoyed for years.

And finally there’s The Royal Wedding. A marriage is the ultimate team building activity, but how can we make an event out of it?

Team Building

A very happy and prosperous New Year from the team here at Fun Team Building Activities and Progressive Resources. It will be interesting to see what is popular in 2010. We predict that cooking and chocolate making will continue to be popular and also The Crystal Challenge, with our next generation of updated challanges and equipment. Photos will be coming in February.

We’re also backing Film Making as an activity because it really can be used to combine fun with useful business outcomes; films can be based on company values, business plans and pretty much any desired result. The teams also get a film to take away so they can watch their event again and again.

Our clients still want fun events but there has to be more to it than that. They need return on investment, now more than ever. We give this with authentic, effective activities without corny storylines and where the outcome feels natural rather than affected.

Film making works very well as a fun team building event. There’s a clear objective and various elements to the task, so teams have to divide the work out and play to their strengths.

The brief can either be something business linked, for example an advert or documentary, or recreating a famous film. In the image they are recreating Grease.

Props and costumes add to the creativity of the event and it can be turned into quite a production.

The film can be watched over dinner on the evening of the event, which is something that participants look forward to and really enjoy.

This can be built in to an Oscars themed night with chocolate trophies and emotional acceptance speeches.

As always the highlights of this event are unscripted. It’s the in jokes and interpersonal relationships that bring the house down and ultimately build a team.
