Summer Solstice!

Summer Solstice!

The Summer Solstice is here! In other words… the longest day of the year, and we get to enjoy a whole 16 hours and 38 minutes of daylight!

Astronomers and scientists use the Summer Solstice to mark the first day of summer however here at The Teambuilding Company we have been busy celebrating the summer already!  The longer days and warmer weather have inspired our clients to get outside on one of our outdoor teambuilding events! Ranging from land based treasure hunts and country sports events to rib blasts and water based treasure hunts. We are loving the summer!

The word “solstice” comes from the Latin words “sol” (sun) and “sistere” (to stand still), because the seasonal movement of the Sun’s path (as seen from Earth) momentarily comes to a stop before reversing direction.

So what happens now? As soon as the Summer Solstice passes, we will begin losing seconds and then minutes of daylight until the Winter Solstice.

Although there is still plenty of time to enjoy the summer days, our clients are already looking further ahead and enquiring about our indoor and evening events in preparation for their Christmas parties!
